How it Works....
Cathy is available to teach amazing, experiential pottery and ceramics classes in the creative and well-equipped environment of Joe's Glass Shack in Escondido.
Unlike many studios that merely hand out materials and leave you to fend for yourself; Cathy's classes are educational, hands-on and substantive. You will learn history, science and techniques as well as enjoy the experience.

Even better, why not gather friends or family and book private classes just for your group? Perhaps, a Mommy & Me class with your child AND another class for "Mommy time" like Ladies' Night Out? We keep class sizes small for maximum enjoyment and enrichment.

Parent & Me Class
Whether it is Mommy & Me, Daddy & Me or Grandma & the grands, this is a fun way to spend quality time together. Utilizes hand-work techniques, such as rolling, forming, pinching and piecing. No potter's wheel in this class. Paint your piece and pick it up after it is glazed and fired. Suggested minimum age of 3 years. This is also the perfect class for families with a child with special needs.
Budding Artists
Ideal for students ages 6+ who are interested in developing their skills and experience with clay. Dependent on ability levels, we will expose the class to an array of techniques and give them hands-on opportunity to practice each one. Hand-work, as well as wheel throwing, will be offered.
Birthday Parties
Whether you are celebrating turning 8 or 98, a Pottery-themed Birthday Bash is sure to please all your guests! Cathy will tailor the class to your interests, experience level and to the group size.

Pottery Wheel Classes
Whether you have always wanted to give the wheel a spin or you have thrown pots in the past, the Pottery Wheel will get your creativity turning. Appropriate for adults and kids of all ages.
Hand Formed Clay Classes
Techniques such as rolling, hand forming, coiling and slabwork (on our new slab roller) will be covered. This is our most popular "getting started" class. If you are a bit intimidated by the wheel or new to clay work, this is the one for you. Molds are available to make larger bowls and vessels.
Ceramics Paint & Sip Classes
Start with a bisque piece of your choice (unfinished) and spend a relaxing session glazing from a wide variety of glazes. This class can be adapted and offered as a Kids' Class, or a special night out with friends, family or co-workers.
Ladies Night Out Classes
Turn any of our classes into a special night out with friends, family or co-workers. Ask about offering grown up refreshments as a part of the session! PS - Men's Night Out is a great idea too!
Fused Glass Classes
OUR MOST REQUESTED CLASS!
Discover the beauty of working with glass through our Fused Glass classes. Perfect for workshops, birthday parties, and Friends Night Out. Using a wide variety of colors and textures of hand-poured art glass, you can make trinkets, jewelry, suncatchers, or decorative plates. Cathy will tailor the class to your interests, experience level and to the group size.
